چکیده

Post-harvest handling of horticultural products is very influential on product quality, because storage temperature one the important factors to maintain especially fresh fruits and vegetables. The purpose this study were determined effect calcium chloride concentration (CaCl2) starch type as edible coating material against inhibition chilling injury tomato. research method carried in two stages, namely preliminary main research. was conducted determine time drying. using Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 3x4 factorial 2 replications. first factor consisting 3 levels a1 (1%), a2 (2%) a3 (3%). second which consists ogf 4 b1 (without coating), b2 (sweet potato starch), b3 (cassava starch) b4 (ganyong starch). responses include chemical (vitamin C total soluble solid), physical (weight loss firmness), organolptic reponses (color appearance). Preliminary results obtained 60 ° best 5 hours for showed that (A) affected color appearance either day or 10. an (B) had vitamin (C) content, solid, Factor interaction influenced shrinkage oweight, Ganyong has better based response C, solid weight loss.

Effect of High Temperature and Heat Shock on Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) Genotypes under Controlled Conditions

Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum MILL.) is usually produced during the winter period in Sudan. In summer due to high temperatures, monthly average temperatures are between 31 to 35°C, a shortage of tomatoes is common. General environmental changes, especially global warming, may have an adverse effect on crop production in Sudan. The objective of this study is (i) to investigate the effect of he...

Proteomic analysis of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum, formerly hycopersicon esculentum) pollen

In flowering plants, pollen grains are produced in the anther and released to the external environment with the primary function of delivering sperm cells to the female gametophyte. This study was conducted to identify proteins in tomato pollen and to analyse their roles in relation to pollen function. Tomato is an important crop which is grown worldwide and is an excellent experimental system....

In vitro flowering and fruiting in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.)

In vitro flowering and fruiting were induced in plants regenerated from calli of leaf explants of Lycopersicon esculentum var. Pant 11. MS medium supplemented with 2 mg/l BAP displayed the best response followed by MS with 2 mg/l BAP, 1 mg/ l ABA and 0.5 mg/l IAA. Flower buds were developed both directly from callus and regenerated plantlets from leaf explants under 16 h (39.3 μmol m-2s-1) phot...
